My husband and I got married in Gatlinburg and stayed here at Mountain Romance for our honeymoon and it was perfect!! Great price and very clean and had everything we needed for a quiet get away but still very close to all attractions. If I had to give any negative feedback it would be that the dryer does not work but nothing that interfered with our stay. We will definitely be coming back every year!!! Thanks for a great stay and memories!
No problem finding cabin. Very impressive. Comfortable bed. Didn't use fireplace but central heat was nice. Loved the view! It was in te 30s but we still got in the hot tub and enjoyed it. Only down side was , did a load of laundry and the dryer wouldn't heat up. Reported it right away but no one came to look at it. We were only there 2 days so it was not that big of a deal. Enjoyed the pool table also. Would like to go back sometime.
This cabin was all that I hoped it to be and more. My boyfriend, and I stayed two nights and it was extremely comfortable, and livable during that time. We cooked two breakfasts, and grilled out one night. Everything worked, and we had everything that we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals. Once we got acquainted with the location of the cabin we were able to get back and forth from downtown Gatlinburg in a little over 10 minutes or so. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again. Thanks for everything!
My new husband and I stayed here at the tail end of our honeymoon. It was just what we needed, quiet and relaxing with great views. Loved the hot tub outside! The weather was still warm enough that we could enjoy that. It was great to have our own space for a few days and just hang out. The drive to Gatlinburg wasn't that far and it was fairly easy to navigate to wherever we wanted to go. I highly recommend Three Jimmy's restaurant which is really close to the cabin. Great Food!!!!! Would love to stay in a cabin like this again someday!
I just stayed here for a summer vacation with my sister-in-law and our kids. The cabin was very clean and neat, adorable, and a great size! The loft has a large king bed and half bath (which I was surprised to see and was nice because other one bedrooms I've stayed in only have downstairs bath) and the living room had a very comfortable pull out queen sleeper sofa which the kids used. There was one small issue with the hot tub control panel, but we called and the owner came out within the hour. He apparently sent a technician over that day while we were out because it was fixed by the time we got home. Also, the views from this place are understated in the pictures, I guess they've recently had some small trees cleared out because the summertime view from the rear deck was awesome! I've stayed in two other low priced cabins in Gatlinburg, and this one has a better location, wonderful views, and is very reasonably priced! I've seen some other reviews that talk about the bathroom paint, yes it's a cheap paint job, but honestly if that's going to twist your panties up so badly for your vacation then you're not the type of person who should be staying in a rustic cabin! I believe Hilton has a DoubleTree resort you might try checking into to accommodate your high class tastes. Seriously, yes there's a few minor aesthetics that could be touched up, but nothing to affect your stay, it's a very cozy, comfortable, clean cabin and I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Gatlinburg!
Wow!! We arrived early evening & were in awe of the cabin when we walked thru the front door! Looked better than the pictures. Awesome view from the deck! Bed was very comfortable! No complaints except the carpenter bees were busy drilling holes in the rafters on the deck and left lots wood chips. They never bothered me when I sat on the deck, nor my husband when he would look out at the spectacular view. We will definitely come back to this cabin! Great location, close to everything, and secluded. Neighbors close by, but never heard any noise. Very clean and well kept. No hair dryer, fortunately I brought my own.
My husband and I came to mountainside romance for a post- deployment getaway. The cabin was homey, the hot tub was great and we loved how it was tucked in the arts and crafts community. It had the indoor jacuzzi (which we did not use), the pool table, games, a grill and cable. The one thing that could be improved was the pool sticks- one was flimsy and the other one was taped together. I would suggest this spot for people who want a quiet getaway. Just FYI too, you will have close neighbors- but the hot tub/deck is private enough and downtown is within 10 minutes. We had great time in Gatlinburg both in and out of the cabin. Thank you!
The cabin was warm and inviting. It was the perfect getaway for me and my wife's anniversary. During the day we were able to go explore, and in the evening we came back to the cabin to relax in the hot tub. The place was perfect, and the owners were nothing but nice! Will definitely stay here again...especially since it was just a few miles from the heart of Gatlinburg.
Really enjoyed our stay at this great cabin. The weather was great, hot tub was awesome and clean and the cabin overall was clean and just too cute. The ease of booking online was appreciated as well. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the owners! Only one con...need to spray for carpenter bees on the deck.
This cabin was wonderful! My girlfriend and I came up for my birthday and stayed the weekend. The view was absolutely gorgeous and was exactly what I was wanted for a cabin view. The hot tub was very nice and had plenty of deck space. I would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quick getaway! This was exactly what we needed and we didn't want to leave! Thank you for the Beautiful cabin and we will definitely be staying here again!
This cabin was amazing! My husband and I came to Gatlinburg to get married and honeymoon. The cabin exceeded our expectations! Some of the reviews talk about poor lighting and a musty smell to the hot tub. We noticed the smell on the first night but that was it! Did not notice the smell when using the hot tub...just the amazing views! The lighting was not an issue. Just to play devils advocate I will list cons. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and the decor was a little dated; however, decor just speaks to personal taste so don't let that deter you! Overall, I rated the cabin a five because when we left we both said we would stay there again.
Let's start with the Pros: 1. Location: While still providing the secluded mountain get a way feel cabin is 5-8 min. from downtown Gatlinburg 2. View: Mountain Romance cabin provides a wonderful, unobstructed view of the Smoky Mountains. Which can be viewed from pretty much anywhere in the cabin- even from your bed. 3. Size of cabin: 1250 sq ft - which is nice size for most rentals 4. Washer & Dryer access: it was great to have the use of a full size washer and dryer. 5. Kitchen: Is nice sized with a full stove, microwave seating for 8 (includes using the bar stools), lots of pots, pans, plate & silverware, even has a dish washer. We could never locate dish washing detergent. The Cons: 1. Hot Tub: The hot tub cover had a musty smell- which permeated the water. Was told by cleaning people it is the chemicals. Been in hot tubs on/off for many years never experienced this smell before. Up side is we were told they empty the hot tub after each guests leaves. Good to know. 2. Carpeting: The carpet was in bad shape. Bubbles in the carpet, stained, etc. Basically just needs to be replaced. 3. Cleaning issues: While you can tell the cabin is routinely given a general cleaning it really could use a serious "Spring Cleaning". Cobwebs on the ceiling over the bed, bugs in the light lens on the fume hood over the stove, deck/balcony has grease stains. 4. Bed: The queen size bed was a hard as a rock. For some this might be a good thing, for us we had sore backs the entire time. 5. Paint: You can tell some of the rooms were recently repainted. Whoever did the painting did a poor job. Plus, one coat of paint isn't enough- you can see through the current color to the old. 5. Poor lighting: The main bathroom- while large- has no light over the shower nor the toilet. Finally FYI's: The directions to the cabin tell you "at the flashing yellow light look for..." There are TWO flashing yellow lights on Glades Rd. Go to the second flashing yellow light. Also, you need to bring your own blow dryer, toilet paper (we ran out 2 days before we left), and dish washer detergent. Also owner resides in Florida so we found it best to connect with him via email.
We had a great time relaxing in this quiet cabin with the great view of the mountains. It was very private considering the other cabins in around. The short drive to down town was helpful to see the sights and get back quickly. Thank you for a very relaxing vacation!
This cabin was great and very cozy. We really enjoyed everything it had to offer (wood burning fireplace, hot tub, pool table) and was very clean. However it was difficult to get in touch with the owners via email. I never received any confimation emails with all the details of address, keys, etc, so it was a little worrisome prior to arrival. I was able to speak to the owner by phone several times who provided all the important infomation and he was very helpful. Also had to ask twice for the security despoit back. Overall, the cabin was wonderful and we enjoyed our visit to the smoky mountains!!
The cabin exceeded expectations; great views and wonderfully inviting interior. Owners were great and made communications easy. Off the beaten path yet quick commute to all that Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer. One of the best places I've stayed at in the area. Highly recommend making this a first choice when visiting.
Listing description was accurate in both words and pictures. Good view and far enough away from the busy part of gatlinburg but close enough to enjoy the downtown part with a short car ride. Property was clean upon arrival. Had a great stay and would stay again for the price.
The cabin was exactly as advertised and exceeded my expectations. It was in a great location offering easy access to the touristy areas of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but seculded enough to relax away from the crowds. I would highly recommend this if you are going to the area.
I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone needing to relax and enjoy some time away from it all. This cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway, secluded yet only minutes away from so many things to do. The décor is so cozy and very comfortable, exactly as it appears in the pictures and it has everything you could possibly need! The owners quickly responded to a question via e-mail and were very kind and helpful with any questions. We had a FABULOUS time and are excited to be planning a return trip later this year. Thank you!
